The Bunz introduced me to this family owned business and they sure do serve delish and fresh food! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. I must say it is one of the best spot for hard shell tacos + the veggies condiments that comes with it. So goooood! The hard shell holds decently well within the hour - just make sure there is some sort of ventilation in the packaging. Love the fact they have the Mini Meals Menu! Whether it be eating on a budget or portioning - the mini meals portion is still generous and can't beat the affordable pricing. Their beans and rice are really tasty - you get the homemade feel! Our other favorite items are Tacos, Quesadillas, Esteban's Nacho Strips (smaller size of their regular nacho - perfect for munching), Nachos and Burritos. Our go to protein is Asada, Barbacoa and Carnitas! All very yums. It is a very small restaurant so seating on premises will be tight for groups bigger than 4. FYI - there is no restrooms for customers to use. We usually call in our order or just order when we arrive. There is much more other items we have yet to try still. Esteban's is definitely one of our fav hole in the wall Mexican joint! Can't wait to return :) If you haven't tried out Esteban's, you gotta make that trip out there to give them a shot! Support the mom & pop shops. Seriously, delicious food is served here.

Found this out of sheer desperation in search of a party tray of tacos for a NYE party when several of our go tos were closed early! Esteban's not only saved us from our jam but made us new returnees because of their accommodating service catering to our last minute order (party tray of 30 tacos in under an hour!) and their delicious hard tacos (carne & chicken). I may offend some here by stating that imo these were way better than Tito's Tacos!!! I know, I know but again that's just imo...go try for yourselves. Definitely will not disappoint...and fyi the party tray was completely devoured!

Best damn hard shell tacos by far, the Barbacoa is my favorite. This place is also my go to for when I'm craving a Carnitas burrito. Everything I've tried so far has been excellent. Very lucky to have this place so close to home and the Estebans treat their customer like family.

Absolutely delicious and the son/mother staff went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying the food. I asked for a lid for my consomé that came with my birria tacos because it was so delicious I wanted to take some home and the actually upsized it for me in a cup with lid instead!! Highly recommend!

Nice family owned restaurant, that you can taste the love they put into their food. Love their tacos dorados. We had chicken, asada, carnitas, barbacoa, and pastor. Also had the chicken enchiladas verde plate. Would highly recommend.

This friendly, family run, neighborhood restaurant has won my heart! I used to love another Mexican restaurant on Harbor Boulevard but their prices are astronomical compared to Esteban's! The food at both places is very good and tasty. Not greasy. Quality ingredients used, fresh salsas etc etc but Esteban's is just better in every way. Especially since at the other place a meal for 2 will EASILY put you into the $50-$60 range which is NUTS compared to getting the same meal for 2 at Esteban's for half that and Esteban's food tastes so much better! My gf and I love Sunday mornings at Esteban's. We've gone the past 2 Sundays for muchos tacos, breakfast burritos, and their delicious menudo! We always finish everything and we love their pickled onions and spicy carrots that they so generously provide with their tacos. This past Sunday we ordered delivery from Esteban's because we were hungover hahahaha! A little while after I got a phone call from Esteban's. The woman spoke in Spanish which I am not fluent in but my gf is from Michoacán so I've picked up a little and can understand it more than I speak it. She was calling to tell us that they didn't have lengua or tripas for the tacos that we ordered and that they had run out of hominy for the menudo. I understood everything! I was shocked! I told her in English that I understood her and she proceeded to continue in Spanish offering us tacos with the meat they did have available which was pollo, asada, and another kind of beef which I'm forgetting the name of right now. I chose 4 tacos de pollo, the Mexicano breakfast burrito, a bean and cheese burrito, and menudo with corn tortillas. Everything was so good! They even gave us an extra taco for free! The tacos de pollo were amazing! Such great grilled flavor! We were so happy! We ate everything in 15mins standing up at the kitchen counter exchanging, delighted, excited, delicious food expressions and mooooing like cattle hahaha! We were in awe at how yummy everything was!!! It's like we couldn't comprehend how good the food was! We didn't even remember we were hungover! Since we got delivery the price was $8-$10 higher than it would have been if we picked it up at the restaurant or dined inside. Still, $45 for everything plus delivery and a good tip is an unbeatable! We would have easily paid $80-$85 for the same order, delivery, and tip at the other place. We love Esteban's family tacos so much! You will too! Go now!

I was in Buena Park and found this mom and pops place on Yelp. Looked at the posted pics and decided to give this place a shot since the tacos dorados looked great! So, we arrive and it was a small place, but those are the best!!!! No chain restaurant like La Favorita, Los Compadres, taco bell lol etc. My fam ordered steak tortas cause they actually put a flank steak and toasted the bread before they serve to you!!!! Have not seen that in a minute!!! I ordered 3 tacos de papa and boy oh boy!!!! Usually all the "Mexican" restaurants in NorCal are glorified Taco Bell's to me!! Anyhow, when they brought the tortas out the cook came back out to let us know she put onions in it on accident when we told her no onions! She wanted to take it back and make us another one!!!! Who in today's day does that???? People these days don't give crap about the customer. Sad.... The cook said she just wanted to make sure we left happy. That is service and a FIVE star review in my book! I don't usually do reviews unless it's really good or really bad!!! Once we started digging in to our delicious food, I heard the sound of the cook making hand made corn tortillas???????!!!!!! Omg!!! This place is legit and worth eating at! Humble people and this IS Mexican food! NUFF SAID......

Hola taco amigos, this is your friendly guero taco y Muchas sabor Mexican food lover reporting my experience at Esteban's Family taqueria today. I love my fellow Yelp reviews and heavily rely on your feedback. That's how I come to know these amazing restaurants. Currently I'm trying any and all taco places within North Orange County specifically Fullerton. Although Esteban's is technically in Fullerton it's on the border of Buena Park. It's a block away from where the 91 and 5 meet using the Magnolia exit. So it's freeway convenient for those who live further away. With that said I HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here whenever you're ready to try a new place. That's why you're reading my review isn't it? lol Esteban's is a small restaurant where you order at a counter with the menu displayed above it. The restaurant has about 6 tables and can seat 20 people. It was very clean, neat and very welcoming. When you dine in they bring you a complimentary appetizer of nachos served with freshly made chips, cheese and salsa verde on top. Delicious!! Who gives anything away for free anymore? It was a great treat. Recently I learned of a different type of torta (Mexican sandwich) called Pambazo. What makes a pambazo different from a torta is the bread, which is a thicker type of bolillo, is dipped in guajillo chili sauce and fried in a pan to the point it's a little blackened. Added is refried beans, I chose chorizo y papas (Mexican sausage and potato) lettuce, creama (Mexican sour cream) cotilla cheese, tomato and avocado. I can't tell you how incredibly epic this pambazo was. I can't wait to go back and try more. My pambazo also came with a side of Mexican pickled carrots. This was priced at around $11.00 My friend asked for taquitos which wasn't on the menu but was told they could make something similar by making a taco and frying it then adding cheese and lettuce. They made a trio of their taquitos using different meats including Birria, Lengua, and Asada. His plate came with a side of pickled carrots and onions and a can of coke. I believe their taco plates are the same, three tacos and a can of coke for around $10.00. We walked out of there so satisfied knowing we will be back again soon to try more. The photos are our plates we had and their menu. Just note the prices on the menu are not currently accurate as they have changed just like everywhere has. 5 out of 5 stars for me!! Thank you Family Esteban.

I've ordered takeout and dined in at this local spot and my god, this place definitely needs to get more hype in the area. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and you can tell the chefs put a lot of love and care into their food. If you dine in, they give you a complimentary plate of nachos with cheese and their house made salsa verde which is a wonderful touch. I'm not Mexican (or Latino for the matter), but when you go in, it definitely feels like you're at your abuela's house complete with the futbol on the TV. It's homey, comforting, and lovely. They are a small team so expect some slightly slow service, but overall it's because they're making things fresh to order so it's worth the wait. Times are tough, but Esteban's is on my little treat rotation and I hope this business thrives.

The hard tacos are what I recommend to try. I tried the Especial de la Casa (3 hard tacos with a canned soda.) I chose 2 carnita and 1 chicken hard taco and all of it was delicious. The barbacoa wet burrito with green sauce was also amazing. The green sauce is mild... so if you want it spicier, opt for the red sauce. I enjoyed the chips with the burrito because it adds a little crunch to the soft texture of the burrito. The 4.7 star Yelp review is why we tried this little hole in the wall and the food here did not disappoint. The staff are friendly and courteous. Note that if you pay by credit card, there is an additional fee of $1.00.
